A man was arrested and a hand grenade was confiscated during an early morning Oplan Sita operation conducted by the Caloocan City Police Station under the supervision of Police Colonel Paul Jady D Doles, Chief of Police, at around 2:00 AM, May 25, 2025, in Phase 1, Package 3, Barangay 176-A, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
The suspect, a 45-year-old, male, was flagged down for not wearing a helmet while riding a white Kawasaki Fury 115 motorcycle with plate number 6126 CS, tried to escape when asked to present his driver’s license. Alert operatives quickly chased and stopped him, which led to his arrest.
Recovered Evidence: one (1) MK2 Hand Fragmentation Grenade, one (1) diamond glass cutter, one (1) wire cutter/stripper, one (1) steel measuring tape, one (1) long nose pliers, one (1) flat screw, one (1) black bag back and one (1) unit of Kawasaki Fury.
Charges for Violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority), Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives), and BP 881 (Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines) are being prepared for filing.
