CALOOCAN CITY — Two male individuals were arrested in the early hours of June 15, 2025, for violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Disobedience to a Person in Authority), Republic Act 10054 (Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009), and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), following a pursuit operation conducted by operatives of East Grace Park Police Sub-Station 2 (SS2), Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS).
At approximately 3:50 AM, law enforcement officers from SS2, onboard Mobile No. 2355, responded to a 911 call regarding illegal public drinking at Barangay 130 Caloocan City. While patrolling the area, the responding team noticed two suspicious male riders aboard a black Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle with a covered plate number. Both individuals were not wearing crash helmets, which prompted the officers to flag them down. However, the suspects attempted to evade apprehension by speeding off but were quickly intercepted by the responding personnel.
During the frisking of the suspects one was found in possession of a .45 caliber pistol with no serial markings, loaded with a magazine containing eight live ammunition. The firearm was concealed in an inside holster. The police also recovered the motorcycle used in the attempted flight, a black Yamaha Mio Sporty bearing a covered plate number, and a black Huawei cellular phone from the suspects. Upon request, the rider failed to produce any license or legal documents authorizing him to carry or possess the firearm, which led to the arrest of both individual.
The suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights in a language they understood and were subsequently brought to the Caloocan City Medical Center for physical examination. They were later turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) for proper disposition and case processing.
