Caloocan City, Malabon City, Valenzuela City – In a series of intensified anti-illegal drug operations across the Northern Police District (NPD), three drug suspects were apprehended in separate incidents, resulting in the confiscation of an estimated 26.9 grams of suspected shabu, with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of ₱182,920.00.
In Malabon City, police operatives from Sub-Station 6 of Malabon CPS arrested a 38-year-old male jeepney barker known by the alias “Noneng” at Barangay San Agustin, at around 8:20 PM on August 1, 2025. The suspect was caught in the act of examining a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. Seized from him was 0.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated SDP value of ₱3,400.00. His arrest was witnessed by a barangay official and a member of the media. He was promptly apprised of his constitutional rights and brought to the station for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
Meanwhile, in Valenzuela City, a high-value target identified as “JR,” a 38-year-old jobless male, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at Barangay Karuhatan at about 12:30 AM on August 2, 2025. The operation was spearheaded by SDEU operatives of the Valenzuela City Police Station under the leadership of PLT Sherwin Dascil and PCPT Joan Dorado, and with the guidance of PCOL Gerson S. Bisayas, OIC of VCPS. With proper PDEA coordination and the use of body-worn cameras, the suspect was caught after handing over a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer. Subsequent frisking led to the discovery of two more sachets of suspected shabu, along with marked money, boodle money, and a black coin purse. The total weight of the seized shabu 25 grams, with a street value of ₱170,000.00. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 will be filed through inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.
In another operation in Caloocan City, a 33-year-old male construction worker identified as “Joie” was arrested at around 1:45 AM on August 2, 2025, at Barangay 178. Acting on a tip from a concerned citizen about a man wielding a knife and arguing with another individual, patrolling officers from Sub-Station 10 responded swiftly. The suspect was found in possession of a butterfly knife and, during a lawful search, was also found carrying a small heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu. The confiscated item weighed 1.4 grams with an estimated street value of ₱9,520.00. The suspect was brought to CCMC for a medical examination and was later turned over to SDEU for further investigation and the filing of appropriate charges.
This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of the NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and apprehending wanted persons. By enhancing operational capabilities, conducting proactive law enforcement, and fostering community partnerships, the NCRPO, under the leadership of Police Major General Anthony A Aberin, remains committed to ensuring safer communities across Metro Manila.
Police Brigadier General Jerry V Protacio, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District, commended the arresting teams for their vigilance and coordination. “This arrest demonstrates our unrelenting commitment to justice and public safety. Our operatives, along with our partner agencies, continue to work tirelessly to locate and apprehend individuals who attempt to evade the law,” he said.
