March 25, 2025 – To reinforce security preparations for the upcoming elections, the Northern Police District (NPD) convened the 2nd District Joint Security Control Center (DJSCC) Coordinating Meeting at the NPD Conference Room. This gathering provided a crucial opportunity for key agencies to coordinate efforts, address potential challenges, and enhance strategies to ensure a smooth and orderly electoral process.
The meeting was spearheaded by PCOL VILLAFLOR S BANNAWAGAN, NPD Deputy District Director for Operations, under the leadership of NPD Acting District Director, PCOL JOSEFINO D LIGAN. It served as a crucial platform for stakeholders to align security protocols, assess potential threats, and finalize deployment plans.
Present during the discussion were key representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Joint Task Force NCR-CAMANAVA (JTF-NCR-CAMANAVA), Department of Education (DepEd), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), City Public Safety Office – CAMANAVA and the National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL). Each agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly, and credible election process.
Key agenda items included the deployment of security forces, contingency planning, intelligence sharing, and inter-agency coordination mechanisms. Emphasizing a proactive stance, PCOL BANNAWAGAN urged all sectors to maintain heightened vigilance and seamless collaboration to prevent any election-related threats.
With the strong cooperation of security forces, government agencies, and election monitoring bodies, the 2nd DJSCC Coordinating Meeting reaffirmed its mission to uphold peace and order, ensuring that the elections will be conducted in an environment of security, integrity, and trust.
