Valenzuela City – A well-coordinated anti-drug operation by the Northern Police District – District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) led to the successful arrest of two drug suspects in a buy-bust operation at 97 Diamond Street, Sta. Lucia Village, Phase 5, Punturin, Valenzuela City, in the early hours of March 28, 2025.
The arrested individuals, identified by their aliases as “Bok,” a 43-year-old jobless male, and “Erwin,” a 36-year-old construction worker, were caught red-handed during the operation conducted at approximately 1:27 AM. “Bok” was apprehended for violations of Section 5 (Sale) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while “Erwin” was arrested for violating Section 28 of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.
The operation, spearheaded by PLTCOL Timothy B Aniway, Jr., and supported by personnel from Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) Sub-Station 7, resulted in the confiscation of approximately 30 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of Php 204,000.00. Authorities also seized one caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, loaded with three live rounds of ammunition.
PBGEN Anthony A Aberin, Acting Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), lauded the successful operation, stating, “This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and combating illegal drugs. By enhancing skills, conducting proactive operations, and strengthening community partnerships, the NCRPO ensures a relentless fight against illegal drug activities, making Metro Manila a safer place.”
PCOL Josefino D Ligan, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District, reaffirmed the NPD’s unwavering commitment to ridding communities of illegal drugs and ensuring public safety. “Our relentless efforts in the fight against illegal drugs and crime will continue to safeguard the well-being of our communities,” he stated.
The arrested individuals and confiscated evidence have been properly documented, and a formal complaint has been referred to the City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.
