Valenzuela City – A high-value individual (HVI) drug pusher, identified by his alias “Ogag,” a 44-year-old male, was arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Valenzuela City Police Station under the Northern Police District in Barangay Karuhatan at approximately 12:05 AM on March 28, 2025.
The suspect was caught red-handed selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative. Upon frisking, authorities recovered three more sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money consisting of a genuine ₱500 bill and seven pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, additional cash, and a black coin purse. The confiscated illegal drugs weighed approximately 51 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱346,800.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of PCOL Nixon M. Cayaban, Chief of Police of Valenzuela City Police Station, with proper coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the use of body-worn cameras for transparency and accountability.
PBGEN Anthony A Aberin, Acting Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), lauded the successful operation, stating, “This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and combating illegal drugs. By enhancing skills, conducting proactive operations, and strengthening community partnerships, the NCRPO ensures a relentless fight against illegal drug activities, making Metro Manila a safer place.”
The Northern Police District, under the leadership of PCOL Josefino D Ligan, Acting District Director, remains steadfast in its mission to rid communities of illegal drugs and ensure a secure and peaceful environment for the public.
The arrested suspect will face criminal charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of Republic Act 9165, which will be filed through inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.
