Caloocan City — Through a well-coordinated entrapment operation, operatives of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) Intelligence Section successfully apprehended a 39-year-old male suspect for illegal possession and sale of firearms, in violation of Section 32 of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
The operation was conducted at around 4:00 PM April 25, 2025, in Phase 3, Package 3, Block 82, Lot 22, Munting Nayon, Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. The suspect was caught red-handed after handing over one (1) M1 Garand US Rifle Cal .30 (Winchester) with serial number 840409, along with six (6) magazine clips, each loaded with eight ( live rounds of ammunition.
The buy-bust was set in motion after Intel personnel traced an online transaction posted on Facebook by an individual believed to be the suspect’s relative, who is currently at-large in Macau, China. The arrested suspect personally facilitated the exchange during the actual meet-up.
Seized from the suspect’s possession were the firearm and a total of Php300,000.00 buy-bust money—composed of one (1) genuine Php1,000.00 bill and 299 pieces of boodle money. Marked evidence was recovered and documented during the arrest.
This successful operation was executed under the direction of PCOL Paul Jady D Doles, Chief of Police, CCPS. The suspect was brought to Caloocan City Medical Center for medical examination and later to the Intelligence Office for proper documentation and filing of charges.
