Valenzuela City — In a successful anti-illegal drug operation, a 48-year-old male suspect, alias Jun, was apprehended at Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City at around 11:55 PM on July 18, 2025. The operation, spearheaded by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Valenzuela City Police Station, led to the confiscation of approximately 15 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php102,000.00.
Under the strong leadership of PCOL Gerson S Bisayas, OIC, VCPS, the operatives conducted a buy-bust operation with PDEA. The operation utilized Body Worn Cameras (BWC) in accordance with mandated protocols.
The suspect was caught red-handed after selling one (1) sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer. During a subsequent frisk, officers recovered two (2) additional sachets of suspected shabu, marked buy-bust money, boodle money, and other drug paraphernalia, including a black coin purse.
The arrested individual is facing criminal complaints for violations of Section 5 (Sale and Distribution) and Section 11 (Possession) of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Charges will be formally filed through inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.
This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of the NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and apprehending law violators. Through enhanced operational capabilities, proactive law enforcement, and strengthened community partnerships, the NCRPO, under the leadership of Police Major General Anthony A Aberin, Regional Director, remains steadfast in securing safer neighborhoods across Metro Manila.
Police Brigadier General Jerry V Protacio, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District, lauded the operating teams for their swift and decisive action that led to the arrest of a significant drug personality. “This operation is a testament to our unrelenting campaign against illegal drugs and our commitment to a drug-free community,” he said.
