In a well-executed anti-drug operation, the Northern Police District (NPD) scored a significant accomplishment in its relentless campaign against illegal drugs following the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and the confiscation of over 53 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately ₱364,480.00 in a buy-bust operation conducted in Navotas City.

At around 10:47 PM on May 9, 2025, operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Navotas City Police Station, under the leadership of Police Colonel Mario C Cortes, conducted a buy-bust operation at Navotas Public Cemetery, Barangay San Jose, Navotas City. The operation, which was covered by PDEA Coordination that led to the successful arrest of a known drug personality, alias Dey Dey, a 23-year-old male resident of Barangay Tangos South.

The suspect, who is listed as a high-value individual and street-level pusher, was caught in possession of approximately 53.6 grams of suspected shabu. The illegal drugs were marked as JT1, JT2, and JT3, and seized alongside one genuine dusted five-hundred-peso bill used as buy-bust money and seven pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, all properly marked and documented on-site by the arresting officers.

The suspect is currently under police custody and will face charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case will be referred to the City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.

Police Brigadier General Josefino D Ligan, District Director of the Northern Police District, lauded the operating team for their swift and decisive action. “The timely and successful apprehension of this high-value suspect reflects our unyielding commitment to eradicate illegal drugs in CAMANAVA. We will continue to intensify our efforts and protect our communities from the menace of drug abuse and trafficking,” PBGEN Ligan affirmed.
