Valenzuela City – A 26-year-old male high-value individual (HVI) drug personality was arrested in a successful buy-bust operation launched by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Valenzuela City Police Station at around 4:30 AM on May 24, 2025, along Plastic City Avenue, Brgy. Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City.

The suspect, known by the alias “Mac Mac”, a jobless senior high school graduate and resident of Canumay West, was caught red-handed during the operation conducted by the SDEU under the leadership of Police Colonel Relly Bagasin Arnedo, OIC of Valenzuela City Police Station. The buy-bust was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and was properly documented with the use of body-worn cameras (BWC).

The operation led to the confiscation of one (1) sachet of suspected shabu handed by the suspect to the poseur buyer, and three (3) more sachets of suspected shabu found in his possession. In total, the seized illegal drugs weighed more or less 50 grams with an estimated standard drug price of Php 340,000.

Also recovered during the operation were one (1) genuine Php500 bill and eight (

 pieces of Php1,000 boodle money used as buy-bust money, two (2) pieces of Php100 bills, and one (1) blue coin purse used to conceal the contraband.

Appropriate criminal complaints for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared for filing through inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.

PBGEN Josefino D Ligan, District Director of the Northern Police District, commended the dedication and swift response of the operating team. “Our operatives’ swift action and thorough preparation played a key role in this success. This is proof that with unity and resolve, we can strike hard against illegal drugs,” he said.

The Northern Police District remains firm in its commitment to uphold public safety and support the national anti-illegal drugs campaign.
