In a successful joint manhunt operation, personnel from the Northern Police District (NPD) District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) and the Regional Intelligence Unit – National Capital Region (RIU-NCR) apprehended a high-profile murder suspect, identified as the Top 2 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region Police Office.
The operation, conducted on March 27, 2025, at approximately 6:30 PM, culminated in the arrest of alias “REMEL,” a 34-year-old male from Navotas City, in Brgy. San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan.
The suspect was apprehended under a warrant of arrest for Murder (Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code), issued by Hon. Romana Maria Melchor P. Lindayag-Del Rosario, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 287, Navotas City, dated December 11, 2023. The warrant carried no recommended bail.
The arresting team recovered a Cal. 9mm pistol with serial number AGC111010 and ten (10) live rounds of ammunition from the suspect. An iPhone 14 Pro Max, used as an Alternative Recording Device (ARD), was used during the operation.
During the apprehension, the suspect was informed of his offense and constitutional rights in Tagalog, a language he understood, but chose to remain silent.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken to Bulacan Medical Center for a medical examination and subsequently to the San Rafael Municipal Police Station for investigation and the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code. He was then transferred to the NPD Custodial Facility Unit (NPDCFU) for temporary detention pending the return of the warrant to the issuing court.
This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of the NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and combating illegal activities.
