In a significant accomplishment in the campaign against wanted persons, operatives of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) of the Northern Police District, in coordination with Regional Intelligence Unit- NCR (RIU-NCR), and Kumalarang MPS of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provencial Office, successfully arrested a 43-year-old male construction worker.
The accused also ranked No. 2 in the Regional TTMWP list (Region 9), No. 3 Provincial TTMWP (Zamboanga del Sur), and No. 2 Municipal TTMWP (Kumalarang) for July 2025, was apprehended at around 2:30 PM at Barangay San Martin de Porres, Parañaque City.
The joint operating teams served multiple warrants of arrest for the following charges, Attempted Murder (2 counts) with recommended bail of Php 120,000.00 per count and Murder (2 counts) with no bail recomended
Issued by Hon. Romeo Tenorio Descalier, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 19, Ninth Judicial Region, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.
The accused was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language known to him and opted to remain silent. An Alternative Recording Device was used to document the operation. He was brought to the Caloocan City Medical Center for medical examination and is currently under custody at Northern Police District Custodial Facility Unit (NPDCFU), Langaray Street, Kaunlaran Village, Brgy. 14, Caloocan City.
This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of the NCRPO’s AAA Strategy—Able, Active, and Allied—a holistic approach to reducing crime and apprehending wanted persons. By enhancing operational capabilities, conducting proactive law enforcement efforts, and fostering strong community ties, the NCRPO continues to ensure safer neighborhoods across Metro Manila under the leadership of Police Major General Anthony A Aberin, Regional Director, NCRPO.
Police Brigadier General Jerry V Protacio, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District, commended the operating teams for their swift and decisive action, which led to the arrest of one of the most wanted individuals in the country.
“This arrest demonstrates our unrelenting commitment to justice and public safety. Our operatives, together with our partner agencies, continue to work tirelessly to locate and apprehend individuals who attempt to evade the law,” PBGEN Protacio stated.
