Caloocan City — a man was caught red-handed carrying an unlicensed firearm during an early morning police patrol along Pag-asa Street, Barangay 141, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City on May 17, 2025.
At about 6:05 AM, alert officers from the Caloocan City Police Station under the supervision of Police Colonel Paul Jady D Doles, Chief of Police, while conducting mobile patrol, were approached by Barangay Peace and Safety Officer (BPSO). He reported that a man was seen casually walking while holding a firearm.
Acting swiftly, the responding police personnel, along with BPSO, scanned the area and spotted the suspect holding a caliber .38 revolver. He was immediately arrested on the spot. Recovered from his possession was a Smith & Wesson snub-nose .38 revolver loaded with three live ammunition.
The suspect will be facing charges for Violation of Section 28 of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)
The necessary documents are now being prepared for the filing of appropriate charges before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
