As part of the proactive disaster preparedness measures, Acting District Director of the Northern Police District (NPD), PBGEN JERRY V PROTACIO, led the inspection of Search and Rescue (SAR) equipment and the readiness check of NPD personnel amid the expected impact of the typhoon.
The inspection aimed to validate the functionality and completeness of all rescue tools, ensuring that life-saving equipment such as inflatable boats, rescue kits, life vests, and other emergency response gear are mission-ready. PBGEN PROTACIO also reviewed the deployment capability of SAR teams and stressed the importance of being on standby for any eventuality.
With the heightened alert status of the NPD, he reminded the personnel of their critical role in disaster response operations — from evacuation assistance to search and rescue missions. He likewise emphasized the value of preparedness, teamwork, and swift action in times of calamity.
Through this initiative, PBGEN PROTACIO reaffirmed the NPD’s commitment to public safety and its readiness to serve and protect the community, even under adverse weather conditions.
